Accessories otterbox defender case creates echo

everyone I talk to on my phone since I have put on the defender case says they hear an echo when they talk. I am experiencing no echo on my end of the conversation. I took the case off and like magic no echo. My cousin has the hero and defender case also and says people tell him the same thing. Is anyone else noticing this problem? Besides the echo the case is excellent.
 
I almost wanted to laugh about this, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Normally I'd be like "haha, guess you shouldn't have spent all that money on something that does that" But... I dunno, I feel a kindrid spirit with the rest of my Hero owners, I can't bring myself to Troll them.

Not for something like this at least. Sorry to hear about your problems. But from the pictures I'd almost bet it's echoing in the front under the part that covers the home/menu/end buttons. Does the case come in pieces? Like could you remove just that part of it and keep the rest on? or no?
 
I just got my defender case and I haven't had this problem.

That is what I meant, no one seems to have an echo problem that I have talked to since getting the new case.
 
Well this is interesting... I also have this problem. With one person, they say I sound way to quiet, and the other says they only hear echos from my phone. And both mention it every time I talk to them... :(
 
No problems with echo. 99% of the time I'm on bluetooth, but I did call several people when I first got the defender to check. None reported any echo.
