i got the defender series case for my evo and it has in my opinion out performed the ballistic hc case. the ballistic is still a great case but the otterbox is much more sleek and form fitting and it covers all the ports without having to put a huge silicone skin on it, like the ballistic. i know many people are having problems with their kickstands, but i haven't experienced any, and it works great. this case looks very nice on the evo, and has a beautiful screen protector that you don't have to put baby powder on. there is no oil slick. the only complaints i have so far are the color options which it only comes in black, and the fact that ballistic covered the speakers in a waterproof yet non muffling material which works great. Other than that great case. and the ballistic seems to be a little bit more rugged.

Yes, I have to agree with you. I have them both and the defender is sleeker but the fact that it doesn't cover the speakers is why the ballistic has been on my evo since the day they first launched it. I also lik how the ballistic fits tighter on the holster but I like how you can use the defenders holster as a stand and avoid using the flimsy one on the case.

got the defender and three days later the brittle kickstand broke ..err other then that really nice case i should call otterbox about the stand ...

Definitely call them. I've heard they will either send you a new case or refund your money and allow you to keep the broken one. Just be patient, they take a long time to get a rep on the phone.

I bought the defender, and within two days, the kickstand was broke. Mind you, I didn't use it, except to open it once to try it out.
Otterbox sent me a free replacement defender. Awesome! This kickstand lasted about a week before it shattered. And I never opened the kickstand on the new case because I knew of its history.
So I'm not sure where to go with this one now. I guess I could have them send me yet another replacement, but if the kickstand is constantly falling off, why bother?

I've heard alot of these stories and I understand your frustration. I don't know maybe I just got a really good case out of the bunch, but mine is fantastic. I do have to agree with yall on the whole speaker being covered thing. But I understand your frustration. I would call otterbox they have good customer service and will take care of it

My fist Oterbox I took back cuz the stand never laid flat in the first place , when I went through the pile , found one I liked traded it and never ever wanna use it ,if it braks off I'm glueing it on for cosmetic purposes,never used the stand anyway.

Well I just copy and pasted this from the Google Store, I'd say its pretty accurate and thier right it does not make it water proof,but if ya think about it ,its sorta rain / snow proof, to a point and the screen protector is built into the case not stuck to the phone , I had a ZAGG cover /shield for my phone , what a waste....not very good, it started to "roll off" in my pocket....oh well ...here's the descript...
