Accessories Otterbox vs. The Case-Mate Tough Case (Review)

I have both the Otterbox Commuter Case and the Case-Mate Tough Case. I purchased the Otterbox first. I don't really like it for 3 reasons:

1. The hard part of the case is slippery. For me, it's hard to hold on to it.
2. I don't like the flap that covers the ports at the bottom of the phone. It just seemed like a pain in the ass to deal with it.
3. Also, I didn't really like the look of the Otterbox.

I then purchased the Case-Mate tough Case, and like it better for 3 reasons:

1. The hard part of the case is not slippery, and is easier to hold on to.
2. The ports on the bottom are open.
3. IMO, it's a better looking case.

This is just my opinion of the two of course, and I'm not knocking anyone who likes the Otterbox.

How much bulk and extra weight does it add onto the phone?

I was looking at getting one of the case mate cases, either the barely there one or the "Pop" case. I don't like adding too much bulk and weight to the phone especially since it's already on the heavy side.

IMHO, it adds only a little bulk, however, I feel that the phone needs some bulk at the sides so it is easier to hold it.

It does not add much weight.

Tough doesn't really add much bulk but if you think it's too bulky i'd recommend pop. Really cool case! I have one
