Root [OUDHS] Factory Image and Restore

I think what may be needed here is a good system.img dumped from a stock (root only) device. I got a couple PM's about this. If anyone is willing to do the legwork, I can walk them through it. The participant will need an sdcard with about 4gb of free space so we can pull the stock boot.img and the system.img. It will take some time for upload/download, make it flashable, upload etc, but I can do it. I'm not sitting at my console today, but I can be pinged at my email and will come help ASAP.

EDIT: I STRONGLY SUGGEST getting any other device at this point. I have seen so many Reverbs brick now, including my own, that I believe there to be a real problem with the hardware.

exactly what im looking for... if any1 with a working phone can go through this with interloper, i might finally be able to boot again...

People on this thread...http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-reverb/721118-how-force-jellybean-update.html..are saying that THIS method:

  1. Go to application manager
  2. all
  3. Google service frameworks
  4. force stop
  5. Go to about phone
  6. Check for System Update...
works. I've tried this over and over, with no luck. Always a status 7/ install aborted error. I've gone back to tried it with the stock recovery, and get the same result. Funny thing, though; Odin will flash the stock recovery just fine, but will NOT flash the stock kernel since I've flashed Christophorus' MB3 update. I was thinking about doing a factory reset, but see by other posts that THAT didn't work either. Kies isn't any help, either; it says 2.0 doesn't support the phone. IDK, feeling kinda "trapped" with this phone...can't move forward, can't go back...

Sidenote; good to see you back, J; and hope all is well w/the family.

I have 2 brand new Reverbs with unreparable recoveries. Used Odin to push CWM test 8. Odin says pass. phone won't boot to recovery. tried a dozen times. no recovery. just normally boots. Tried to put the stock recovery back on with Odin... Same thing. no recovery,. Up+Power just loads the normal OS.
Using stock cables,. samsung drivers,. win7 and Odin3.

I did this same method on 2 older Reverbs from December 2012 with no issues. Now these 2 new ones, had identical inabilities to have CWM8 pushed to them. And once you attempt to push CWM8, and odin says passed,. that was the LAST time you will ever have a recovery on that phone.

Thoughts? Fixes? Anyone experience similar?

dont use this one,
as your phone is working normally, you may try ZIP from first post.
that way you will have your recovery intact , and also you will have good chances to revert back to JellyBean!
