Our Evo's might be upgraded?

Don't want to pop bubbles, but this is extremely unlikely in my opinion. :( since when has virgin ever updated a phone? (Well sometimes but once in a blue moon).

it really doesn't matter if virgin updates.... cause we can make use of a sprint update too... though i still doubt that we will get it...

Right. All we would have to fix then would be MMS, which I think we are getting pretty close to having figured out.
That was a grammatically nightmarish sentence, but whatever.

Sprints executive tech support called me yesterday concerning my previous issues with the radio interface shortage error message and confirmed that an ota addressing the issue will be rolling out between the 13th and 14th, time will tell but they were quite apologetic and well aware of the problem.

Sprints Evo 3d already had their one upgrade to ICS, Virgin has only upgraded 1 phone that I'm aware of that being the Intercept that came out 2 years ago, a huge selling phone on Virgin amounts to maybe 1 million units, I don't see HTC footing the bill for such a small return.

Lol I remember when the 2.2.2 OTA came to my intercept, it was an exciting day.

It was a whole week for waiting for little change.^_^ No matter what it was still lagy and had slow 3g like 0.10mbps

The article also says phones from 2012 are most likely to get it.

The 3D was originally from 2011, and just rebranded in 2012.

Who knows, though? I wouldn't hold my breath, but you never know what will happen.

"Our goal is to prioritize review for devices launched in 2012 with our numerous carrier partners across multiple regions and then consider our ability to provide updates to products from 2011. "

Ah, see, the article I was reading (might have been elsewhere) didn't even have that line in it.

Who knows? We'll see. I know VM is notorious for NOT updating devices software. Case and point, look at the Triumph. Thankfully, they have a wonderful dev community who turned that phone into something AMAZING.

Hopefully the fix for the Evo V comes out soon, though.

As time goes on, the cost/benefit analysis of HTC upgrading an old device goes up as more people are expected to upgrade. No point spending the man hours on it for a population growing ever smaller.

After all, they want you to buy new devices. They'll try to keep you just happy enough to make sure its with them again ;)

I'm not sure how the rebranded devices like the 3d work into that equation, so only time will tell.
