Root [OUTDATED] Root 2.2.1 and get Data WORKING!!!

Okay so not cool.....the phn rebooted and when I went to enter the information as instructed itexcepted the first line and than nothing after that

Now my phn has no information.....all the phn info is gone
If your pESN/MEID have been 0'd out, you're gonna have to send your phone into LG to have them reprogram it. Only new software supports it, usually with a price tag of $99 or more. LG will do it for the cost of shipping and a REALLY good excuse.

Ok so i went for a second round, and i am glad to say i am pleased with my self and the phone. I got it to work now to kill those pesky bloaters :D

Ok well....I took the phn back to metro today and lets just say I got a new one under a warranty issue. I don't think I will be rooting any time soon. LOL Unless something comes out like the Z4root...a one button root program. Thanks for the advice though. I still plan on learning as much as I can about this phn.

Sucks that the new one was a 2.2.1 as well. I guess they're slowly exhausting that 2.2 supply.

Then go to this post and download the file (from andyo70) http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-m/273406-new-lgnpst-lab-1-2-thread-now-hd-video.html Open the file and extract these files to your desktop LGNTPS_Components_Ver_5_0_12_0.msi
LGNTPS_General_v1.2_Lab_Version.msi
LGNTPS_Generic_Models_ver_5_0_10_0.msi
Also extract LGNTPST.exe and the Model and the cdaworkshop folders.

Hope this guide help guys

I Think the link is dead I cannot find the links to download those files the LGNTPS files... Please advise.

I have the phones drivers installed now, and when I run LGNPST none of my phones infomation shows up. I also registered the .dll file with reggie and got a successful message. What is going wrong with the process?

I am having trouble getting cdmaworkshop to work. It gives me a time out error. Any thoughts?

Is cdma the only way to get the spc code? From what I understand that's the only thing I'm using it for in the rooting process. Is that right?

ive done everything thats on here and everything went fine the only thing is i dont have any data just cell service does anyone know a way around this?

I just finished the upgrade and I have a black screen the only thing I see is the "USB Connected" option I cant enable usb debugging to get the service and root ?

Ok nevermind I just had to select the language and time. I got it working :D

Code:
To get service back and root you need to download adb. Go to [URL="http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html"]Android SDK | Android Developers[/URL] and download the file that ends on .zip. Extract it to your C:\ drive. Go to C:\android-sdk-windows and open sdkmanager.exe. After is open a windows will pop out click reject on all files except for:
Android SDK Tools and Android SDK Platform tools. Make sure USB debugging is activated (On your phone go to settings> applications>development and check USB debugging) Then open up Cmd and type the following: cd C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools.
After that type: adb push C:\su /data/local/tmp/ (to copy the su file)
then type: adb push C:\busybox /data/local/tmp/ (to copy the busybox file)
Then type: adb install C:\Superuser.apk (to install the superuser app)

For that part do I use the command prompt in windows? Because the terminal in my phone erased along with the upgrade.

yes you can use command prompt in windows to push those files. It's simple just copy/paste step by step.

Thanks for the reply, I just finish the last step I mentioned above and I still don't have service?

Follow the steps after where you left off installing custom recovery. Once you follow those instructions and reboot you should have service

Reboot your phone and check if you got service. To install new Recovery Menu for 2.2. phones and get service back go to this thread Then install a program from market called anreboot. Install the app and open it up, then select reboot system. If everything went alright your phone will restart and it will have service and will be rooted.
After completing this part and getting service then downloading "andreboot", launching the application and trying to reboot anreboot says "sorry su is not available on your phone"
Do I need to redo the whole process again?

After I shutdown my phone and turn on I dont have any service. Then I follow the thread for Custom Recovery and shutdown the power on my phone I have service but the files I pushed deleted? Anreboot can't find su to reboot my phone.
I already did the process twice. Help I would really appreciate

If you have installed custom recovery just install the chickeneater custom rom that has those deleted files and new couple of fixes. Heres the link

Having trouble with Java jdk. It keeps saying its not "found in your Path" says to add at the end Path in "user variables" which I did. But I still get this error message. After this pops up Android SDK closes. What am I doing wrong? I have installed Java twice. I'm running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

Uninstall it, run Ccleaner and re-install then run Android SDK as Administrator.

Ok so I did that completely uninstalled and deleted everything Java. Downloaded everything fresh ran Ccleaner let it do its thing. reinstalled Java, and Java jdk, added it to the "Path" and ran SDK as Administrator and I am still getting the error that Java isnt in my "Path" and to "please add Java to Path" this is the fourth time I've done this four times now. I have no clue why I cant get it to run properly....
