Overall feelings on your Inspire?

I switched from cellular south where I used the htc hero and really liked it but didn't care for cellular south all that much. So switched back to AT&T. I decided to get the Torch (was a bb girl before the hero). The hero spoiled me. Nothing like HTC sense ui for setting up a phone just the exact way you want it. I ended up going back to At&t and giving them back the torch in exchange for an inspire. Love my phone.

I'm guiding my girlfriend to buy an Android phone on ATT. I've been on Tmo for years with Android phones, but I do not know much about the ATT phones. I've had 2 Htc phones and been very satisfied with both. So I was immediately drawn to the Inspire on ATT for her. I know what Android can do and want a well made phone where pretty much everything is going to work when I set it up and show her how to use it. She is not very tech savvy.

So, all in all is the Inspire a good, reliable smartphone? Similar to a Nexus One or MyTouch 4g, from a reliability perspective?

thanks for any input!

If you haven't already, if you update to gingerbread, battery life is much better. My phone even runs smoother and it was pretty smooth before.

The inspire seems to be a great phone. Besides the speakerphone not being so hot (I solved this with bluetooth though so no biggie) and the battery life that I have learned to live with (suggestion would be to pick up a car charger and maybe a spare htc battery) I have bought 3 inspires. And each one works great and so does the gps (I came from the captivate and the gps was utterly useless on that). A lil upset that they came out with a red one after I bought my last inspire and i couldn't return it but also I decided to use an otterbox defender so again that didn't really matter. Overall a great phone.

I dig the phone and how seamless it is when multitasking but the only complaint is it will freeze up every now and again and the only fix is the battery dump and restart. anyone else experience this issue? I have done nothing to the phone but I am here to consider rooting it to save battery life. I dl power defender which has saved the life of the battery but nowhere near another forum member that went 15 hours with still having 15% battery left.

Hi, I'm coming from a Samsung Focus (Windows 7 Phone). The Focus was great, but the longer I used it, I realized that this was more for novice users. The windows 7 phone OS is promising but has a long ways to go. For what it does, it does great: examples: voice recognition (Slightly better than droid), easier IMHO to interface with calendars and email etc. Now, the Inspire is for power users. I now have swype installed and wow. I have better control over the volume for different apps. Love the widgets. You get the idea.
