Root Overcharging Batteries?

I saw this link in the "Superior Battery Charging 4.18V off the Charger" thread and thought it was worthy of having its' own. It would seem (based on what I read) that a continuous trickle charge above 4.05V could lead to instabilities in the least. Here's the link on the read: My thoughts on Over-charging Batteries

It might be true but untill they have actual proven this to be true I don't believe. I mean think about all the people that use batteries and nothing has happened.
