Root Overclock Lg Vortex

What is the highest this phone can be overclocked? Would it be just using apps like z4root or superoneclick? Ive seen these phone up to 800mhz. Any way of doing this just from the phone without the use of a PC? Experts please
 
Well since no one has replied Ill throw in my two cents. Im not an expert but I have my vortex running BreakneckV3 and its OC stable at 806mhz. The answer is if your 2.2 you should be able to z4root. If your 2.2.1 your stuck using a PC to downgrade im pretty sure. SetCpu is the program to OC with but you need a custom kernel that has the ability to overclock, Breakneckmodv3 comes with the ability to OC so i would research going that route
 
Thats grt well im getting it new from Verizon so it should just come 2.2 correct not 2.2.1? Then i just need breakneckmod correct and i can get that app from the phone and download from the phone? Thanks
 
First you must root. If you are on 2.2 use z4root. If 2.2.1 then you must downgrade or try superoneclick. After getting root you n need to use getitnowmarketing's custom recovery. Do a search and you'll find it. Then flash the custom kernal from him and install setcpu or nofrills cpu control. From there it's all just finding where you are stable at.
 
I believe this being new would come 2.2 so if should be able to just find the app on Bing default browser correct?
 
You will probably have to get z4root from xda. Last time I checked it wasn't on the market. You can also use terminal emulator from the market to do everything else. I did mine without a pc. I was on my lunch break at work.lol.
