Root Overclocking setup

Between 245MHz and 1.6GHz, with noop as the I/O Scheduler, and either Ondemand or smartassv2 as the CPU Governor. Any other governor won't offer as good of performance for great battery life as those two.

I've found ondemand to be very choppy on my phone. Sometimes I'll notice that my phone is running choppy, check the governor, and see that it has reverted back to ondemand after a reboot. Changing it to interactive or smartassV2 makes it run better for me.

I'm using 368 min right now. I'm getting worse battery life but I don't have any annoying wake up lag.

I guess the moral of the story here is to try some different things and go with what works best for you.

It all depends on your phone. They aren't made the exact same so you would have to test high to low and see witch is better for you. Although for me (Great on cm9 too) 1024max 245min InteractiveX is great.

Even with identical cpu settings I don't get as good battery life on any custom rom as stock...no idea why I guess some of the tweaks in other roms must be draining it.

You'd be surprised - your OE is probably picky in this case. On stock, out of the box, I can get no more than, if I'm extremely lucky, 18 hours with Juice Defender and in airplane mode the whole time. On Sleipnir for example I can go to 48 hours normally, with normal to light use. Still using Juice Defender though. This has been consistent across all three of my OEs so, speaking purely from my experience, the tweaks in custom ROMs are probably not draining your OE's battery life, I think your OE is just picky :p

Battery life doesn't just have to do with CPU settings either - although they are a key part of it, things like screen brightness on the highest setting, GPS, Bluetooth, and 3G constantly enabled (wifi too, though not to the same extent), and having a lot of apps running in the background unnecessarily will cause massive battery life drops.

Yeah I've been puzzled as to why for a long time. I configure everything the same on each rom I use. I haven't tried cm9 yet still waiting for the camera.
