My one comment to the OP: Dude, any smartphone running a high end processor will get hot with use, same thing with your computer/laptop/xbox/tv, electrical devices get hot at times.
And it is impossible for you to tell us that they get too hot unless you have sampled thousands of devices like HTC has and can come up to a mean # of heat and then compare it to your device.
Sorry bub, but I think you are over thinking this and are too sensitive.
