Root Overheating on cm9 Alpha

2 nights a go I installed cm9 Alpha on my phone. I love it. Smooth, and great looking. However, I'm having overheating issues. After about 10 minutes of unlocked use, Launching apps, texting whatever, The panel right below the battery (the batter is NOT overheating) where the SD card is gets very hot. I'd really like to solve this problem as I truly love this ROM. I don't think this is a big deal, but I'd like to note that I accidentally flashed gapps-ics-20120213-signed.zip instead of the newer gapps-ics-20120224-signed.zip. I don't think that makes a difference but I want to include it anyway. Thanks.

I have the same problem and i am not overclocking. Good to know im not the only one. Also idk about you but my battery life runs out really fast now.

Have you done a fresh install and not added any apps to it? It could be an app that is pegging the CPU.

My battery life is Ok. When the ROM first booted It recovered all my applications from before. Those apps are:
Dolphin Browser HD
Easy Installer
Facebook
John GBC Lite
Juice Defender (currently not using it)
Virgin Mobile Minutes Checker
Root Uninstaller
Soundcloud
Spotify (going to uninstall since i hooked up Google Play Music)
Titanium Backup
Torch-Flashlight (going to uninstall)
Tumblr
Vevo
Wallpaper Wizardrii
Wapedia
XDA
Zedge
Those are the apps that automatically installed when booted.

I would uninstall all of those. It's quite possible that it is an app issue, since not everyone is experiencing it.

hey this happens only when u use apps and u charge it its no big deal. i also noticed that the battery drains faster when . when it gets hot

I had the same problem.... it would get so hot parts of the screen would flash or have artifacts. I lowered my brightness down and it helped a bit.

I have the same problem. I ran OS Monitor and it shows that Exchange is running steadily from 20% - 50% utilization. This must be a bug in CM9 with Exchange because I do not have this problem with CM7.
