Overheating= Replacement

Has anyone tried streaming to see it overheat? It gets very hot and browser starts failing. Its my first cell, so I'm not sure how hot is actually overheating. Seems to shut down occasionally too when streaming. Would that be overheating?

Also, did you guys hang on to your cell til a replacement was available? And is there any difference you can see with the replacement? Model number, anything? What makes the replacement better?

PS.... cause I haven't had any popups warning me I'm overheating.

oh sorry forgot to mention that you do have to hold on to ur old phone until the replacement arrive, so u can use the old one and if your getting this warning you definitely have the defected Lg connect that was released early please get it replaced soon as possible, if they argue with u show them how hot it gets demand a replacement

I haven't had any warning of overheating, that's why I ask. It just goes to sleep all of a sudden while streaming. I know the temp is right up there with everyone else, cause its warm right now typing this (41c) and it's way hotter when watching a hockey game. And I did buy it the first week.

Also,.. what is different with your replacement? How do you know anything is changed? What did they say was the problem with the old, or what is better with the new phone? They gave no reason why the replacement would be better?

Thanks for your response BTW.

could i go to any store to get it replaced. i live around miami, florida and i bought this phone at a metropcs store in hialeah, florida which is pretty far from where i am.

Only corporate stores do replacements. You can locate the closest one on their webpage.

What kind of app do you guys use to check the temps on the Connect? SetCPU or something along those lines right? I was interested in buying a Connect, but this overheating issue is concerning.

You should be good if you get it, its a good phone and only a few have truly overheated ( got the warning and shut down) most seem to be the battery good luck lest us know of u get it

It is usually $10 and pretty much cannot be avoided.

You have a one month window to get it replace and its free the only thing they don't replace is the battery ,,,,because i went today and got mines replace and it's still overheating but not that much....so it might be the battery ....

Just to let you know that my phone is one of the first ones that came out. I haven't have much high temperature issues. The phone is steady at 37 to 43 Celsius. I had high temperatures but after battery calibrations the phone is behaving much better.
I am overall very happy with this phone.:)

i downloaded gameboid and played FF1 dawn of souls for like 2 hours and the temp never got over 100F.

cool. i got my LG connect the day it came out, originally i had purchased the lg esteem, than the connect came out next day i thought maybe just maybe the dual core might be a good hit :D, but i never really got to test out the lg esteem so i wont put it down, great reviews and the phone screen is a a pretty big difference in my point of view, an inch makes a difference. lol but yes my phone has been over heating, has asked me to remove battery because of temps. so this trade it kinda thing is valid? 10$ replacement*. sick sick, ill attempt to trade it in tomorrow morning. has a newer version of the phone been released is that what happened? I'm assuming they fixed the bugs in it?

Well I just found one of those. I took mine in and explained about how hot it gets. I showed her the screenshot of it at 48C and all she said was, "Well, how did you do that?" I had to show her the app before she would believe it. She then wanted to do a hard reset and have me come back in a few days. I said no. She finally agreed to order one for me. She still wanted to do a hard reset after that! I again said no! So, while I had to deal with more frustration than I should have, I get a replacement next week.
And you get to keep your old phone while waiting for new one? Same phone number or different? I'm going to post new thread about possible replacement and "Cool Tool". Any input greatly appreciated.

my phone just reached 109F. this was with 4g on(gps and background data on always) while streaming radio and playing angry birds.
