Overwrite CSS on Android Browser?

Android Forums,

I use a site that has flashcards for language learning. It's a great site, but the interface is absolutely terrible for mobile devices. Actually, the interface is terrible in general...

Anyway, I want to be able to use this site on my Android device, and my appeals to the site developers have gone unheaded. I even offered to rewrite their CSS for them, but they declined.

So... on the desktop, in Firefox, one can create a userContent.css file which will over ride CSS settings for specific sites.

I was wondering if there was something like that for Android (2.2), whether it be a browser setting, an App, or anything of that nature.

Surely this must exist, as so many web sites are not optimized for the phone.

I tried downloading Fennec for my phone (Ht-03A "magic"), but it keeps saying "Application not installed", no matter what I do. I'm not sure if Fennec supports userContent.css anyway.

I can't find any information that confirms how I might over ride the CSS of a web site on my phone.

My phone is rooted, by the way, if that makes a difference.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi, I also search the same thing.
I found nothing in the market. It is incredible, cause replacing CSS on a mobile device is something very usefull, much more usefull than 90% of the apps available.

If there is really nothing, the simplest solution may be to create an add-on for dolphinbrowser. Does someone know where some documentation can be found ?

One thing you could try is filtering the site through Google or Opera Mini.

If you search for a site in Google on Android there should be an options > mobile formatted link.

For Opera Mini (I think) they will route all traffic through their servers and strip/pair-down heavy content for speed.

Anyways, just some thing to try.

Have you tried the Firefox app for Android? It's quite different than the desktop version, but perhaps it has an add-on that will allow you to specify an override CSS file...

Opera Mini is quite fast, it's true, but it's not a solution: in case of websites with very poor mobile-device compatibility, it doesn't change a lot... you still can't interact with the interface.

I can't get Firefox on my HTC Hero :/
Anyway I didn't find anything related to Stylish Add-on on mobile version.

A great solution would be an addon for dolphinbrowser interacting with userstyles.
