Root P3110 not recognized by Odin?

So... a p3110 I'm trying to root is not being seen by Odin but only while in download mode.... I can't figure this thing out. I'm using the cf root method and would use the cwm root but that requires Odin to flash cwm :wallbash: any ideas?

To my knowledge kies is off, drivers should be installed but if you can link that the would be sweet.

I'm in Miami fl, he's in London UK.. so I'm not able to have hands on the tab.

on my compaq i have 3 ports,2 of them dont let odin pick it up and the other one does.try different ports if the drivers are already installed from kies
