Hi, everyone,
I had to reset my tablet, after reset I tried to download apps previously on tablet. Keep getting a message that said package file invalid, what can I do about this?:(

Hello, zanaboo1, welcome to the forums! :)

When you say you are trying to download apps that were previously on the tablet, do you mean through Google Play? Which apps are causing problems? Why did you reset your tablet - was it following an update?

Hey, D-U-R-X
My daughter downloaded something that kept spamming the tablet with all types of crap, I remove what she downloaded but, it kept spamming and the other apps stop working. So I had to reset it, when I tried to download apps I had like, candy crush, instagram, etc; they all say package file invalid.

How did you reset it?

When you try to download the apps, are you going through Google Play and going to "All Apps" to re-download them?

Sorry... I meant, were you going to Google Play and hitting menu and "all apps" or were you actually trying to download the apps one by one? :)

You posted in the a500 forum, but I wonder if this issue is for some other tablet. See this post: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/3300875. I have been seeing this on my Nexus 7 since the 4.3 update. I observed that it appears to be related to the recent security fix, which involved package validation code. On my Nexus 7, I was able to work around this problem and allow updates to work again for affected apps by turning off Settings > Security > Verify apps. I updated the same apps on my a500 running stock ICS (without any security fix) and never saw the invalid package file problem. That's why I am curious if you are referring to a different tablet model that may be running something other than stock ICS, or possibly one that has been updated by the recent Android security patch.
