The US hasn't been mentioned in the official press release, but we got a word from an ASUS manager at the event, saying the Padfone 2 will debut in the US by the end of the year as well.

although that's from early Q4 of last year.

seems to indicate that it might not be coming?

I wouldn't count on it, Asus also unveiled its successor, the pad phone infinity at ces just two months ago. Best best would be to import it if you really want it. Not sure how much compatibility it has with AT&T and T-Mobile network frequencies either.
