Help Panoramic Photos

After looking at the photos thread I gave the panoramic setting on the stock camera app a try. It's really cool but I hate the fact that it is limited to 640x480 segments.

Is there a way to bump up the resolution in panorama mode? If not are there any camera apps that will take high res panoramas using the same method that the stock app uses?

Update: I tried Photostitch but it isn't nearly as good as the panormic assist built into the stock camera app. If they ever added the assistance box to photostitch it could be pretty awesome.
