Root Partitioned SDCard on Req's CWM..

OK i searched through alot.
I choose ext 512- swapper 0 (Eats sdcard fast-thats why i chose zero.)
So.. i did, and everything on my sdcard was removed.
I dont know what the **** i was doing.
Anyways, after that, i noticed i had 1.33 gb on my sdcard. It deleted everything i had. Even my music.. :(

When i went to USB Storage on Compu, it said 'FAT32'
Isn't it supposed to be um.. ext4?

You choose the filesystem for your SD Card when partitioning.
When you partition it has to format first, that's common format knowledge (no offense)
 
After partitioning the sd card everything will be wiped and you will have two parts on that one card. Req's cwm would have ext4 support so when you use link2sd choose ext4 and you should be good to go.

And from what you said, I think you might have made more than two partitions. If that is the case unmount the sd card through settings > storage. Then there should be something that says erase sd card. That would default the sd back to one partition. You can re-partition from there afterwards and try again.
 
I'm assuming you're using cwm to format the partition since you said it doesn't let you choose, that is true. When you format a partition in cwm you MUST make a backup of the data on your sd card before you partition it, because as you already know, it will wipe all data from the card :eek:. The reason it says fat32 when you plug it into your computer is because a windows pc will not read the second ext partition that you just made. It just looks as if you'd lost some memory on your card, when in fact the memory is reallocated to the partition you just made. You need a fat32 partition or windows will not read the card when you plug it in.
 
EDIT: I would try what cuzuai said above before doing what I've written here, it's easier.

Yep, I'm assuming you're doing this for link2sd. Install this (HDD Low level format tool) LLFsetup.2.36.1181.exe on your PC, remove the card from your phone and plug it to your computer and clear the card using this software.

After that is done, if you decide that you don't want to partition it, just format it in fat32, put your files back on it and you're done. If you still want it partitioned, read on.

Install this (MiniTool Partition Wizard) pwhe7.exe on your PC and create 2 PRIMARY(choose primary from the dropdown menu in minitool) partitions. One Fat32 and the other ext.2,3 or 4, because req0's kernel supports all of them. However, I'm not sure if Link2sd will support ext4. I haven't tried. You can try it and see, or you could just format in ext2 and its guaranteed to work. That is, if you want it to work guaranteed, make 2 PRIMARY partitions one fat32 the other ext2.

Note: after you make your formatting selections in minitool, you have to hit apply in the upper left hand corner for it to start formatting.

Once partitioned copy your files back to your sd card and insert the card into your phone and reboot. You're Good ;).
 
Whenever I create a partition for Link2SD I use XXCOPY, A Versatile File Management Utility --- Boldly Extended Xcopy. to do the heavy lifting.

Download it and keep it on your pc. When you're ready just unmount the sd card, put it into an adapter and connect to your pc via usb. Bring up a command window and enter: XXCOPY I: C:\backup\sdcard /backup
(I: being whatever drive the usb adapter is on) Hit enter and allow the program to run, it will take about an hour depending on how much memory you have stored.
Once its done downloading the memory to the pc put it back onto the phone, go to advanced on the CWM recovery menu, hit enter and scroll down to patrition sd card hit enter. Choose the size you want your partition to be hit enter, when prompted choose 0 for the swap size and hit enter. Sit back and wait for about 1-15 minutes. Once its done go through the steps to get your sd card back onto the pc. Use XXCOPY again with these setups: XXCOPY C:\backup\sdcard I: /backup. Allow it to run and once done eject and replace your sd card into the phone, reboot and your ready.
Now when you first go to Link2SD it will prompt you for the extension you want to use. Choose ext 2 (the most used) or ext4 if set up for it and your rolling with Link2SD.
 
i know, i was using Smurfed out on stock++ on a sunday night and there was a script question like : "Is your sdcard ext4" which inspired me to um, partition my sdcard.
