i got a new 32gb card im trying to partition it but when i go through all the steps it just partitions forever i left it go for a while thinking because its 32 it would take some time but i let it go for 30 mins and nothing
any help would be great
thanks

Youre doing it in CWR? I had the same issue a while back. I ended up using Mini Tool on my computer to partition it. Its not free but if you look around you might find a "cheap" version of it or an alike program.

yeah i did my other sd card with no prob following steps but this one not so much. i guess thats were im having the issue i downloaded the minitools but you can only partition it really small like kb. if i do it that way would i just choose ext2 1024md and then in recovery convert it to ext3 or should i just do it right out the bat through mini tool and is there anything else i should do using that?
thanks

Yeah it wouldnt partition my 4gig but partitioned my 8gig without a problem. It just dont like some meomory cards I guess. I have Mini Tool 5 and I can set the partitions at any size I want. I wouldnt go any higher then 1gig for ext and 32 swap and the rest should be a FAT32. When you make the partitions Set them all to Primary. So a primary FAT32, Primary ext and a Primary swap. I made my ext a ext3 in mini tool. After you partition the card put it back in your phone and format before you put the stuff back on it.

shinyside can you help me out with like a step by step
i plug in my card open minitool i do resize and do like 32mb then i click create and make that into primary swap linux then click on fat32 do resize again do 1gb click on that create ext3 primary it looks good so i click apply changes it goes through the whole partition step but when its all done it shows fat32 30gb and has to red "other" partitions one for 32md other for 1gb i did this twice got same issue both times after clicking apply changes why isnt it showing ext3, swap linux, and fat 32
thanks

This is the way I did it.

Delete all the partitions by right clicking each one and click delete partition so theres only one "line" thats grey and says "Unalocated space" Then I made my fat32 first, which I subtracted the 544mb from the 7.whatever gigs the card actually is first on paper (I did 512 ext and 32 for swap) then I made the 512 and then made the left over the swap. I clicked apply and it partitioned it. Put it in my phone and formatted it in cwr. You could format it in mini tool but I just did it in cwr

At the bottom of the window where it shows you that 'color graph' the first part should be green which is the fat32, then the ext which is orange or yellow depending if you did a ext 3 or ext 2 then it should show the swap at the end in pink. Dont worry about that red line at the very bottom of it going across the graph line

i think i got it now thanks!
