Password dots in Google search weirdness...

Uhmm.. same problem here. Also an HTC Desire user. When I turn on Google Instant, the dots are gone and normal text returns. Could this be some evil plot by Google to make us all start to use Instant then? ;-)

Day two, and still, annoying dots!!! I don't want to use classic, and I most certainly do not want to use Google Instant!!!! Surely they can fix what would seem to be a relatively simple problem.

I am in India. Got my HTC desire in December last year and am now facing the same problem since 2 days... it most definitely is a global 'phenomena'...

Okay while there may be a few solutions the easy way to fix this Is. By going into the setting after opening browser and look for the option MOBILE VIEW . Turn of mobile view and leave your Google search set to mobile not classic. The bet way to lock this in is after making change open a new windows and close the old. And problem solved.

My HTC desire z seems to be working fine now. No password dots last time I checked. Don't know for how long though. ;)

Since this seems to be more of a "Who has the dots?" forum than the solution, count me in. I love them though. Them little dots instead of letters makes my life more stressful (love it that way) but the best thing is it has taught me to spell correctly and to trust what I think I typed. I wish this message was the same way when I typed it. HTC EVO and it just recently started. Sometimes dots, sometimes not.

I had the dots on my incredible s but the seem to be gone for now....

Finally gone!!! For now, that is. Hopefully it will stay that way. For the record, I did nothing further to my phone. I had tried everything prior to posting here; toggling phone and browser settings, restarting the phone, battery pull, etc. I had pretty much given up. Then tonight, with nothing done on my end, it started working normally again. Let's hope it stays that way!

Have to agree with ebc1973, working good on unbranded Desire since this morning.
Thank you good people from Google, who by the way successfully manage to turn all our anger towards HTC.

@nickkr: Yup, a restart works! TNX. Still strange, cos it was the first thing I tried.. Didn't work then. But, no more 'dots' for now. Hurraaaaaaay!

Mine did the same thing yesterday, and I have the HTC Inspire. Today it seems to be fine though, I'm guessing it was an issue on Googles' side?

Have had the same problem for a couple of days. Instant had turn itself off, so turned it back and and problem is hopefully now solved. If this is the worst problem from HTC/Google I'm more than happy. HTC Desire, the original and still the best.
