password keeper, email updates

Lurker
hi i am new to this. Just got a samsung galaxy note. Coming from a blackberry. I cannot find a password keeper like the blackberry. 2nd issue is that my emails now come every once in a while. Emails from my blackberry came right away. Does anyone have any help with these 2 issues. Thanks

There are free apps in the android market that will act as a password keeper. BUT if you do use one, make sure you have a password on your phone.

As for e-mails, if only e-mails that are instant are over exchange. What e-mail were you using? Google, work??? (do not post your e-mail address)

It is true that the phone polls for emails rather than having them pushed to you (although I would guess you could sign up to a service to provide this function at a cost). I personally am happy with my mails being buffered as this makes me less of a slave to them. But you can adjust the polling frequency if you don't mind running your battery down faster. You will find this option by opening the mail client, opening one of your inboxes and clicking the options soft button. Then go to more-> account settings. In there you will see the option email check frequency. You can select a different time and your emails will arrive faster.

Also, I use keyPassDroid to store my passwords encrypted. Seems to work fine (better than my memory in any case).

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Eric.

I was using mSecure on my iPhone, so I bought that one off the Android Market for my Note. As a result, I could wirelessly update my Note with my many passwords. Highly recommended as it's cross-platform.
