A very late reply, but since no replies have come - The answer is no. Neither quickoffice nor Google drive provide any password protection options. The reason could be that they are any way accessible from a secure gmail id/password.
But yes, the gmail account is always open in a phone and an extra layer of protection is needed. The only option as of now is to use a secure app to store your personal data.
A suggestion would be "Sec Notes". It is secure and even has spreadsheets and Google Drive/Dropbox backups too... makes it a mini version of quick office. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skipser.secnotes
