Help Password question

Is there a way on the Galaxy S2 to require a password when the phone is turned on (powered on) but NOT every time the screen saver comes on?I found how to set a password but I don't want to have to type it every time the screensaver kicks on.

I don't know what a sim lock is.... can you tell me about it? Is it an app or a setting?

It's a setting. Go to Settings/Security/Set up SIM card lock.
