Password Screen issues

I just got my skyrocket yesterday and so far I love it. I am having issues with the password screen though. I have it set on pattern unlock and it works most of the time but other times it will just let me in the phone without the pattern code. Its like I don't have it on at times. Does anyone else have this issue? Is this a major problem to where I need to send my phone back? Is there a way to fix this?

If you could be a little more descriptive of when it happens maybe we can help you out. For instance. When the screen initially darkens and you press the power button it comes on without the pattern lock, that is normal because the screen will darken before it actually goes to sleep.

This has happened to me a few times. If you are slow to unlock the pattern goes away allowing you to use the phone, however, it will come back again and you can unlock as usual.

I believe that I've just discovered what it is.

I've had mine 4 days and have noticed similar behavior. Sometimes the screen will lock and I need to use the pattern I set up. Other times I would pick up the phone with a dark screen and all i need to to is swipe across the screen per the on-screen instructions ("Swipe screen to unlock") like there's no password pattern.

There's a setting under Display for "screen timeout" and there's a setting under "location and security", "screen unlock settings" for "timeout". This timeout is a delay from the time the screen goes dark until the screen locks with password. So, set it to "immediately" and your screen will be password protected as soon as it goes dark.

Multiple related buried settings are frustrating.
