When this VZ autoplay pops up just close it. It's more VZW crap.

A second window should open up. This is the one for your SD Card access. Also, on your phone you should get a "connect as" screen. select "as disk drive" on your phone. On your computer you should now be able to select Open folder and you should see your SD Card.

i went to the verizon store to figure out what i did, apparently somewhere along the way i had installed a newer version of android that my phone doesnt support or that i tried install gingerbread, i dont even know what that is haha

You don't need to worry about this VZ screen.

2.3.3 is the current OS version. This version is code named Gingerbread.

This should have nothing to do with what you are trying to do. 2.2 and 2.3.3 both work the same way. All you need to do is close the VZ windows that appears. Select disk drive on your phone when the option appears and a second window on your PC will appear. From this window you can select view folders at the bottom of the window.
