PdaNet uses power from?

When using my Droid X to connect to the internet, is the phone being powered by the laptop or am I using the phone's battery? I couldn't find anything on the PdaNet site, and a search here didn't answer the question.

When I use PDAnet, the laptop is constantly charging the phone so the phone never goes down...

Not if you are tethering via BT.

Any time your phone is plugged into USB it should be charging unless the USB port you plug it into is one incapable of providing power.
