Accessories Pebble!

Got myself a Pebble for Christmas. :) I just got the basic, not the steel, and to my pleasant surprise, it has 8 app slots, not 4. I had been under the impression that only the steel had 8.

It also hasn't presented much additional drain on my battery, even with extensive playing around with it, I still easily got through the day with 20% battery left. 3 days in and it's still at 80%.

Anyway, I'm digging it. The display is good, despite being b&w. Already made myself a sweet watchface. The TARDIS disappears and it shows the watch battery instead of the phone battery when it's disconnected from the phone .

Just an update about battery use with Pebble. Had it connected all day while at work, so minimal interaction with the phone. Got a few texts, and responded using the Pebble app, and a little phone use on breaks and during travel. I'm at 72% after 13 hours and it's showing Bluetooth as responsible for 1% of the battery consumption. Still have over 24 hours remaining battery time. :)

One thing I've noticed with mine is that watch faces can contribute greatly to battery drain. I have a couple that display weather and give an indication when the phone is out of range. When I use those watch faces, my battery life is cut in half and I have to put the phone on the charger at the end of the day. When I switched to a standard watch face (no weather updates, etc.) I went back to getting and easy two days of battery from my Volt.

Love my Pebble, too.

I'm not seeing any significant drain on my phone or watch battery using the watchface posted above. I still have over 50% phone battery at the end of the day (usually about 14 hours off charge) and that's with me playing games, reading books, and typical phone stuff. It's been 4 days and the watch is still at +50%... That's with using Morpheuz at night and as an alarm.

I've noticed that several of the watchfaces on Canvas have lots of extra layers, like the person didn't know how to delete it, so they just hid it. Could be contributing to battery drain, or maybe frequent weather updating... I have mine set to 6 hour intervals, using Yahoo weather (open weather seemed to have location issues). Also, Canvas let's you load just the watchface, or the whole applet... I just used the watchface. That could be a factor too.

Ive had a pebble for several months now, never seen any change in drain depending on watch face. The faces that pull weather data only do so about every 40minutes, or if you switch to another face and back which forces a refresh. I use my watch to control the audio player alot, love being able to switch songs without pulling the phone out.
