Help People App - how to view contacts by nickname

Does anyone know how to view your contact list by their "Nickname" you set in the People app? You know what i mean? How do you get the Nickname to show up when receiving a call from someone, rather than their First and Last name. I'm looking through the menu and there only seems to be an option for First name and Last name. Maybe there's an app in the Marketplace that gives you extended options?

(There are some close family member that i have pet names for and I'd rather not see their formal first and last name when they call. Rather use their informal pet names when i text and call)

I could just enter the nickname i want in the Name field, but then this would mess up my contact list in my Gmail account when i go to use a desktop. So I'd rather keep their formal first and last name, but just view them and sort them with the nickname.

yeah the stock HTC People app that serves as your contact list. If you select a person, and touch Edit, one of the fields to enter information is "Nickname." Presumably this would be where you enter "mom cell," for example, so when she calls you, "mom cell" would appear on your phone, as opposed to her first and last name.

Ok I must be blind I go into my contact list tap a contact and edit but for the lifre of me cant find nickname

Edit: nevermind, I see it is only an option on contacts with google
