People having battery life problems, and use a screen protector...please read...

So you guys have battery problems? Cool.

I never did, until....I installed a screen protector!!

I realized after a few days that my battery life was drastically shorter. I also realized that I had inadvertently covered one of the sensors on the front of the screen by the speaker with it, because the whole was not lined up perfectly.

My guess is that it is possibly misreading the amount of light entering the screen and my "auto" brightness is pulling a lot of battery.

I took the screen protector off, put on a fresh one - lined up properly - and POOF! Battery life was doing great again.

Just thought I would share.

This is why I always put the screen protectors on myself. Some of the reps at VZW/Best Buy don't line them up properly. Good catch though!

I've noticed this phenomenon with the screen protector that came with Diztronic case.

I have the easy solution to this....don't use a screen protector.
But this is good info for those that do use them.

I didn't use one until I got a small scratch on my screen. Then I has to get one because I couldn't stand looking at it.

My daughter has known from day 1 that my phone is off limits. She is 10 and I'm still not a good electronics sharer. Which is partially why she got her own phone.

And hers has a screen protector.

Good catch, but I don't use auto brightness...it doesn't seem to work too well on my GNex. I just leave my brightness at 75%

The other area, which used to be a sort of generic Gnex area, is now still thought of that way by many users, but it has become by necessity the "non-Verizon" Gnex forum.

It's still not sitting well with many users of both types, this change we've made, and with some Staff as well.

If you feel strongly about it, we can put this thread back there for you, but according to the way we're trying to make this come about as a Verizon Gnex forum and the other one non-Verizon/LTE, we'd rather these threads wherein the OP is a Verizon user remain here.

But, again, as I say, if you want it back there we're just fine with that because this is AF and at AF we try to keep members happy.

Again, sorry I didn't get to PMing you about this.

No matter where this thread is, it's a good one, so let us know.
