Help people, phone and facebook

Just got the 2.1 update and so far I am pleased. The one thing that bugs me is one aspect of the facebook integration.

On 1.5 i love how my people(contacts) would update/sync with their facebooks. Mostly I like the how the profile pic would show up.

On 2.1 it still does that, but now when i click on phone it shows every facebook friend I have (all 200+) but when i go to people(contacts) it only shows my google contacts.

My question is, Is there away to still have the facebook sync but with out having all friends show up in the phone list. I just want my contacts to show?

I have search but can not find any option like this

Did you find anything more on this? I have the same issue as do others it sounds like, but I haven't been able to find a reasonable resolution.

I have not found a resolution and until now i though i was the only one who didnt like it.
 
Go to People>Menu>View and uncheck Facebook.

And I believe going to Settings>Accounts&Sync>Facebook and uncheck Sync Contacts within there will also do the trick.

nope, those options arent there, and if i unsync facebook i will lose the contact pics that i do want

I was able to link new contacts to facebook but still see facebook contacts under the dialer

I think what is happening is the phone and people are pulling your contacts from two different list. In 1.5 it seemed it would pull the contacts from the people screen. I hope there is a solution to this as well.
 
same problem here..after a long long time of deleting and deleting contacts after syncing again and again i atleast got facebook contacts not to sync..
import all your gmail contacts in vcard form and put em in sd somewhere

go int settings >mangage applications > contact storage and clear the data which will remove all your contacts

go into people > menu >import>sd>phone

this will bring you all your gmail contacts safe and sound without facebook involving itself

i still cant get the facebook linking and stuff to work tho
 
I finally un-synched my Facebook contacts from my phone just to get rid of the extra people (and duplicate phone #s) but I'm still not even able to sync one at a time. It seems to be all or nothing. Bummer!
 
I went to People>Menu>View and then Checked Facebook. I exited, went back into People>Menu>View and then unchecked Facebook and it left me with just my contacts in my phone synced to Facebook like the old 1.6. I am using Villain 2.1 Rom.
