Peparing to install new ROM

I'm preparing to install Oxygen on my Desire, and just need a little help with preparing to change from the stock ROM.

I have purchased a few programs and games (Rockplayer, Radiant, etc) and I'm just wondering if I will still have the paid versions when I reinstall them after installing the new ROM? Do they check via the IMEI #?
Also I have used AppMonster to backup programs. Can I just reinstall the backed up programs via AppMonster after?

Is there a way to backup Text Messages?

I use SMS Backup & restore and call logs backup & restore apps for texts and call logs.

Not sure about appmonster a lot of people sware by the app titanium backup, which i also use and find very good for restoring apps and app data post rom install.
I've got paid apps and not had a problem restoring them or downloading updates for them post a rom install.
 
apps are registered to your google account, not your phone, so you should just be able to re-download them. (Except ones boought outside of the market)
Ti backup is brilliant, well worth the Pro version too...
 
Apps are linked to your google account.
To back up programs use Titanium Back up.
For sms and call logs, not sure, sorry.
Please do not forget, so a Nandroid back up before changing ROMS, Just incase the worst happens.
Make a gold card if you ain't already.

Thanks for the advice everyone. The transfer went very smooth, and all my programs and SMS are back as if they never left.
