You get what you pay for. Right now the 16GB Sandisk class 4 uSD card has the fastest read speeds of any other uSD card out there. Empty I was averaging 40MB/s.
Now with a 2GB partition and only 3.8GB of space left I still get an average of 34MB/s read speed.
Read speed is what will allow the contents of your uSD card to usable quicker. Instead of 2 1/2 to 3 min total boot up time before you can use an app that's on the uSD card, you should only need to wait 1 to 1 1/2.
Unless you use the Video Camera a lot, write speed don't mean nothing. I've seen to many members go out and buy a class 10 uSD card thinking it will give them faster boot up times and better quality. They where paying $10.00 and thinking they where getting quality because it was a "Class 10" uSD card.
Class has nothing to do with Quality. It is just an industry standard to gauge the write speed of the SD cards. The faster the Write speed the quicker the Video speed can be.
Finally: Read speed is not governed at all. You could buy the cheapest uSD card on the planet and get the highest read speed, or you might have to buy the most expensive, or somewhere in between.
To my knowledge right now. The Sandisk class 4 16GB that is around $19.99 US has the best read speed of any. It blows the competition out of the water.
