Root Performance?

hexpc

Newbie
i have used the wonderful Harmonia & Mobster ROMs on my EVO V and really admire the work and tuning put into them.
i have since reverted back to JMZ's stock ICS ROM with LeeDroid tweaks & dual-core mod flashed,
due to certain things being taken out of each ROM(extras that i liked; my personal preferences).

i will definitely being trying them again, and any newer ROMs(i.e.: MeanROM).

i am a performance junkie, but also love my bells & whistles on this phone(Sense, too).
i posted this because i have seen similar performance from supposed performance enhancing ROMs.
anyone else getting any major performance gains from any particular ROM or mod flash?

this is my quadrant score on JMZ ICS rooted stock (w/ the aforementioned mods flashed):

Thanks I'll check that out, I just ran a quadrant on mobz 1.0.6 and got 2830. I was into the 2900's last night right after flashing

Edit: I'm getting 58 + on nenamark1 too

I'm reading your linked thread... can you explain the difference between the leedroid power saver switch and the hidden power saver settings? I had kind of assumed that you configured the settings in the hidden menu, and then toggled it on or off with leedroid, but it sounds like they are not related at all? If so what does the leedroid power saver do? thanks

edit: you started talking about this in literally the next sentence, when I went back to the linked thread. Read first, ask questions later!

So how do you control the hidden settings? I mean, I can access them and set all the checkboxes... is it always on? Is this the setting that used to only kick in when you hit a low power threshold on previous android versions?

Don't place a lot of faith in benchmarks.
Oddball benchmark and power management behavior

Run the rom that works best for you and ignore the performance. Performance between roms is usually really not a major deal.

Yeah I woulndnt say any of the three rooms I've tried lack performance in handling all the things I do: video, music, web browsing, etc. , they handle what I need them to in excess..... I just enjoy the chase
;)

edit: also i just run the rom, no additional tweeks , just closing apps to free memory up

It should stay on once set. As to exactly what any of them do...

You know as much as I do, and based on those test results, my answer would be, not much.
