Perhaps new and "solid" info on Bionic

The dimensions are why I am concerned with the accuracy of the information, since it would be a fat ratio. Seems wrong info.
 
Wow that phone looks like a beast....o I hope that its fit with a decent battery...the size is not that intimidating being that it is a 4G phone. Excitedddddd
 
Where on the page does it mention the pentile display?

I was kinda wishing it would be an underclocked 4460, but it seems not to be.
 
the info they are using was already proved wrong. Also it doesnt mention anywhere about it having LTE. Not to mention moto has never used a 960x640 screen maybe they will change but idk just seems strange. Also that is a defy next to it so I am not sold on the 4.5 inch screen. Ill wait for more credible info.

There's no way that pic is of a 640 wide display. I measured an unskewed display area of roughly 280x154 pixels in the picture, which corresponds to ~960x528, so if that's Bionic then it's definitely 960x540 like other new qHD panels.
 
IMO, the sign-up page is a message from both Moto and VZW that "yes", the Bionic is releasing real soon and to get some media buzz starting.

We should see "leaks" anytime now.
 
4.5" WOW.

Is that the biggest Android Phone to date? I.. err. hmm.. I don't know if I like that or not. I have to get to the store and try out a 4.3 incher and see how it hangs in my pants.
 
Looks like if the Bionic really is releasing next week, they are keeping the news a little too close to the vest. There should be some "leaks" to build buzz and get folks interested. Perhaps there is some truth that VZW is too focused on Apple now.

Sure the Bionic will get a bigger effort, but seems too quiet for the Bionic. Perhaps there is some truth to September?

You would think those that signed up on the VZW Bionic page would be getting some emails leading up to it as well. Very disheartening.
 
If Motorola's marketing strategy is to wait until September to put the Bionic up against the iphone 5 head-to-head, then I'm at a loss to understand why that would be a good idea.

If you release the Bionic now, or much sooner than the new iphone, and it has comparable or better specs, then word will spread about the Bionic and will generate interest to the point where people decide its not worth waiting for the iphone because there's a great phone out there that is just as good or better. The closer you put the Bionic release to the iphone release, the less people will know about the Bionic or if it's any good and the more they will be willing to wait for the iphone. After all, the iphone markets itself. People who aren't even in the market for a smartphone know what the iphone is. I don't think the same can be said about the Droid Bionic. The Bionic needs a head start to generate interest and buzz so that when the iphone is released, people will be confident that going with the Bionic will not be a risk. Just my two cents. I hope you are listening Moto.

If its like the past, vzw will send out emails either 1 day before the actual launch, or the day of the launch (late afternoon) or a few days after.

I have never received an email from vzw more than a few hours before launch of a new product after signing up to be notified.
