Perhaps new and "solid" info on Bionic

my battery on Bionic is already at 12 hours today, and I still have 35% capacity remaining. Full LTE, all radios on.

It is 4.3". Unless English Units of measurement have changed, 4.3" is the final spec. Sorry guys.

On a brighter note, my battery on Bionic is already at 12 hours today, and I still have 35% capacity remaining. Full LTE, all radios on.

Even if this was real, battery life is subjective, so 12 hours means nothing, since it could be in semi-sleep/call mode most of the time. With typical use, I would call this bunk even if a 28nm LTE radio, this time next year (in mass quantities).

The Bionic has a big a55 bezel, so people think it is 4.5", but the space is there to make room apparently for a big a55 battery, if the newest pics are real.

Yea, while I would love to believe he is telling the truth, my common sense is tingling.

I agree with this guy.

My mom's droid lasts nearly 20 hours on a single charge, granted all she does is text and make 1-2 phone calls a day...

Mine lasts about 6 hours, but I also make phone calls, text, web surf, play video games, read forums...

Subjectivity is a fickle thing.

At the end of the the day, you guys will find out soon enough.

What's sad is that no matter what anybody says, people will find things to complain about. If I tell you the battery life has been good, you'll complain about subjectivity.

If I don't say anything, you'll ask what the battery life is. Of course it's all subjective. If you want different information, go find a connection that can get you a phone and stop bitching.

Actually no, I won't ask what battery life is, BECAUSE I know that battery life is subjective.

Of course anecdotal evidence is anecdotal! Unless people expect Yoda to be reporting on weighted averages of the experiences of thousands of testers, which is silly.

What is reasonable is to report one's experiences and give a rough idea of which potentially demanding activities have been performed and for how long. I don't recall if Yoda has given any such specifics before, but I can understand how s/he might not even want to go there after this hounding.

There just isn't any way to accurately predict how long a particular user's battery is going to last. So take other people's anecdotal reports, try to get an idea of how closely their usage resembles your own, and then just make an educated guess.

That's the problem, Yoda consistently says vague things with no reference points.

Very similar to this last post, he simply said it lasted 12 hours, he doesn't give any detailed information as in what he does/how he uses it.

Unnecessary. In your head please, unless you want

THE RAGE OF THE ADMINS

I disagree, and so do you according to your sig- "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". This guy has said nothing of value, with any remnant of proof that I have seen, and should be subject to scrutiny.

Personally, I sense a meager effort at trolling here.

If this was reddit I would of upvoted this man.

Ditto. My Droid 3 lasts 24 hours- if I do not use it much, or four hours playing PSX games and watching Flash vids the whole time. Too subjective to make any battery life statement unless ALL is the same:

Display brightness
Signal quality
Apps (and data update settings)
Battery profile
Other radios
Volume
Web use
Call totals

Could go on, but point is any battery statement is not relative to anyone else. One constant though is that when using a 45nm LTE radio, it consumes TWICE the power of a 3G radio on VZW network. Anandtech has good insight on the tech and why it is currently a battery hog.

Apparently, all current LTE radios are 45nm and due to the manner of how the power is used, it takes a different approach than how CPU chipsets are managed. Radio signal bandwidth is a different beast.
