Help Periscope APP

I tried to download PERISCOPE. It's a new app for watching your friends online.........like yahoo.

I downloaded it, got to the part about sending in my phone number for confirmation, and then I had to submit a username.........at least 3 characters.

I submitted about 5 or 6 names ( about 10-12 characters) and none of them were accepted. I find it hard to believe because they were all similar to the ones I use now. I keep getting a red thing under the place you enter your name.

Am I just submitting names already taken ? Or is there something else I need to do ?

Questions often get a faster response from other users than from the developers, especially over weekends. As you may have noticed, this sub-forum is full of questions about using various apps.

I think I 'll do that tomorrow - Monday.
It's a new app , but becoming quite popular.
I deleted it and tried to download it again but it happened again.
