Help Permanent downloading indication

My new Galaxy S II on the upper left corner has all the time the "Downloading" indication. Any ideas why ? Is it a setting that I need to change ? otherwise is operating fine (don't know if this all the time downloading is affecting performance OR if there is security issue ie picking up my data....)

any response wil be greatly appreciated...

It sounds as if you've got an ongoing update. Open the Market and check for apps (esp. Google's own) that are marked for auto-updating.

I think what you have is a notification of a completed download. you can clear it by dragging the notification bar down the screen then touch the clear button.
