Got the phone for about 3 days and all 3 days I have been draining and recharging til full. (even though reading the post above I probably should've just recharged it partially whenever I could.) Don't know if the deep charge hurt the battery since I didn't have time to fully read the article but regardless...
Today I got up at 6:30 for work and unplugged my phone. It was on CDMA+evdo/LTE. Turning on the phone, it went from 100% to 96%, then on the train on the way to work, it dropped all the way to 78% with just gmail, app killer, and facebook. I didn't even open any of these, just put the phone in my pocket and left. (Today was my first real test day at work) Since I have to lock up electronics at work for security reasons, I let the phone stay on in my locker (which probably doesn't get any bars or internet, which I think is the culprit of it dying). I checked my phone at lunch time around 12:30 and the phone was dead. I don't know how long it had been dead but I couldn't turn it back on. So with my first real test, I think the search for a data connection does drain the battery a lot since yesterday, I was playing angry birds and did a bunch more on my phone at home, yet I had 4g all day and it lasted about 10-11 hours. Just some personal experience to document!
Will keep this updated a couple more days just to try out different scenarios and their effects.
