Help Personal text tones for contacts

Is there a way to give contacts their own text tone?

get handcent. you can do it with that

As that person said, Handcent is the best one in my honest opinion. You can modify so much with it. It's got a lot of personal options and settings, Plus it's free!

I prefer go SMS. It does it also. Just a preference thing really. Also grab ringtones editor so u can chop a mp3 down to a notification worthy length it also allows u to save the file as a ringtone so its added to the notification sounds. I have the optimus s so should be the same

I downloaded go sms and handscent and that same day I wasnt recieving any texts for about 4 hours. I un installed both then at 3:45 am got a flurry of messages the day.coincidence, or has anyone else had such a problem?
