PewPew beta

Just got done playing again and I totally agree that the joysticks should both be on the bottom. Definitely looking forward to the next version

Just thought I'd add that it works perfectly on the Galaxy Tab. One possible option id like for it would be a "tablet mode" control scheme where the dual controls were rendered slightly smaller to offset the tab's (and others) high screen size?

Great work so far considering its beta status! :)

Awesome game. The black screen problem happens on 2.1 Vibrants as well. Other than that just the request of the option of both joysticks on the bottom like others have said, but great game and I'm looking forward to the finished product.

Can confirm working on HTC Desire HD. Same problem with black screen but when it does play its smooth, fast and alot of fun. Look forward to full release.

I am, and I am even checking this thread daily :)
Online scores and replays are working, you can move the joysticks around, the exit button crash is corrected, etc...
But there's still no music and I have to re-write the server code so that the scores are downloaded more quickly (that's what I am doing that right now). Also, I have to figure out why PewPew is crashing on the Nexus S (it's maybe because there's no SD card).

I hope adding music is not going to reduce the performances. I noticed that simply running skype in the background severely reduced the framerate on my Nexus One.

First of all, I would like to thank you so much for making this awesome game. Just a few things

1. On my g-tablet, it starts upside down (not a big deal since I can reverse screen orientation)

2. When I set the movement joystick to the right, it still appears on the left in dodge this etc..., I have to swap the joystick via settings to get it to appear on the right

3. Pickups/shooting is missing sound effects, no biggie

4. I think this would really add to the game: Hitting the green barrier/zone containing the play field would kill your ship

5. Performance is extremely smooth.

6. Pressing the back hardware button EXITS the game to the android homescreen. It should instead pull up the settings menu -this is a biggie

Good work man!

1. Ok, I am going to try to add orientation detection with the accelerometer.
2. Erg. Will fix this in update.
3. I am waiting for Android 2.3 to become widespread, so that I can use OpenSL. Then I'll add a lot of sound effects.
4. That would make "Dodge This" a bit too hard I think.
5. :)
6. Ok, I'll correct this.

tl;dr
2 and 6 will be adressed in next update. 1 and 3 will be adressed when Android 2.3 is widespread.

edit: the game is now live on the market :)

Ok I am experiencing a few issues here. First the game game does run really smooth on my phone but every now and again it will stutter and almost freeze when playing. I have also had it where I was playing and both joysticks stopped working. Also. When a game ends and I input my name and score the game freezes almost all the time. The phone usually rebooted when this happens.

Downloaded it but haven't had any time to test it more than starting the game and running through the tutorial. I'll give you feedback after spending more time with the game, but I have had zero issues so far.
