phablet, really?

So, it's a phone and a tablet? Well, can it run tablet apps? I.e. Baldur's Gate is coming and it's supposed to be a tablet game.
It is really a tablet or an over sized phone with some cool apps?
Google turned up no articles!
 
I'll let you decide on the semantics issue. I just got this phone and it is WWWAAAAYYYYYYY beyond any other phone I have used.
 
No doubt its awesome, but will it run tablet only apps?

The best answer for this is so simple.....download a tablet app/game! There's enough of them that you REALLY don't have to wait for Baldur Gate to find out.

Then come back and let us know your findings......*hits button* THAT WAS EASY.
 
I haven't been able to find any "tablet only" apps. Some aren't optimised for tablets and look stretched. But the note 2 has no problem with big apps that are usually better on tablets eg shadow gun dead zone and the bards tale.

Now back to regular programming :D
 
I always thought the term phablet for the Note 2 was more the size of the phone, not so much how it functioned.
 
To me it is my Good Old PDA with a phone....;)
I have a tablet that does it's own job.
This (Note 2) comes closest to my favorite Sony TH55 pda then anything so far.
As for apps just for one or the other?
I really don't worry about it right now. (Maybe next year?)

Well, if I wasn't a a freaking VZW customer waiting till Nov freaking 27th for the release, I'd hit the easy button.
 
I feel for you VZ Note 2 folks. Suck ass AT&T is finally launching it this week so my, seemingly, endless wait is now <HOPEFULLY> coming to an end. I find it rather odd and completely foolish that VZ would release/promote the hideous monstrosity that is the LG Intuition over the Note 2. Makes no sense.

When the Note 2 was announcend, I was considering moving to Verizon from AT&T. So I went to the Verizon store to see what the process was when switching. I told them I was planning on making the switch once the Note 2 was available, but they tired to sell me on the LG Intuition. I almost laughed. I agree, that is one phugly phablet.

In any case, I decided to stay with AT&T and pre-ordered it. If all goes as planned, my Note 2 should be leaving their warehouse tomorrow. I can't wait!!
 
The LG Intuition and whatever HTC will offer makes me think of phones that arrived late to the party. Samsung made 5+ inches all the rage and everyone else is now trying to play catchup.

LG's phablet looks like a massive shoebox. On top of that, it doesn't look modern but that's just my opinion of it.
 
other makers try to compete against N2 with their own 5+ inch screens.. if they dont bring an S-Pen type functionality and related features.. they are DOA.

htc tried to bring the stylus back.. they just did not look at out of the box solutions and features.
so the failed. they need to try harder and bring something new to the table. i hope htc can get back in the game.
