Firstly havent seen this anywhere in the x10 section..
And Although not Just an X10 App, this could be usefull to many on here.

Some time ago now this forum stopped the use of Tap A Talk, leaveing no real option of using the forum on Our Loverly Phone. Its been said for a while that Phandroid were making an App for direct forum access.
well that time is now.

Its a free download from the standard market
It is still BETA But wont be forever.

There was a possibility of a security risk with Tap a talk if I remember rightly. The Phandroid app for the phones is great, I have been using it for a while.

The decision comes on the heel of a security risk found in the Tapatalk plugin. We will watch for unusual activity and neutralize any hijacked accounts - but we don't feel anyone has been affected other than an account or two used for "testing" of the exploit.

While we don't see any evidence of account information being compromised - it would not hurt for members to change their passwords should they feel the need. I would recommend it just to be safe.

Instead of Tapatalk we are going to focus our efforts on our new Phandroid app - which is to include complete support for AF! We've been working on this for some time now and hope to have the finished product available before the end of August.

We are quite excited about it and look forward the the release!

The app works and looks great - a must download in my opinion
 
Maybe discussing how it works on the X10 would be helpful. Typically these kinds of posts that really don't relate to the phone itself get moved to the appropriate section (such as Android Apps).

Fair Point Kelmar.

On my x10 running 2.1, the app works perfect.
Not had any FC's. On wifi or 3g its very fast, which even facebook cant manage.
Fits the screen perfect.
I havent tried the Chat side yet, but both the News and Forum work fine.
Can Not Fault on x10 at all.
 
I have only used it for monitoring the forum so I have just had a look at some of the other sections. The news index loads but I get an error when I try and load any story. The apps section looks good so might have a play with that later. I currently use appbrain to synch my apps but am always open to new things.
 
I can get the news to show rose so maybe a glitch? However I can't get to the 2nd page of forum, just says error, is this something anyone else has had?
 
I have all the Sony Ericsson forums as my Favorites and then just view recent threads to see what has changed. Just tried loading page two and got that but could get no further!
 
Bring Tap a Talk back. Tons of forums use it, what kind of security flaw could there be? Might people steal my online identity and start posting things on forums? Seems like a bit of overkill to me.

If there is any security risk i personally am glad the admins/mods decided to get rid. And I believe the issue was more the forum itself more than users at risk.
 
true, as some users use the same password for everything so if somebody can have access to this info, that would open a world of possibilities it what can happen.

Though i didn't know that there were an app for that, i used to come here with the default browser (dolphin's actually) with no problems.

Yes me to via the standard browser, but this app is perfect for the forum.
 
It would be a good app if it didn't say 'Login Failed' when I try to login, so i cannot use it

EDIT: Nevermind, working now, as you can see below lol
