Help Phantom Touch Problem ZTE Overture 2

I keep getting phantom touch problems with the ZTE Overture 2. I originally thought it was a hardware error but now that whenever I restart the phone, I don't have the problem until a couple minutes into using the phone.

Do you have a protective cover on it?

Also, static electricity might be a cause of this...are you in a low humidity environment?
