Started to work with the phone and it started to freeze in the mail app, but would unfreeze if I hit the power button once to basically lock it and then would be fine unlock. The freeze consists of not being able to do anything with the touch screen but the track ball works.

Also, without touching the screen, the phone inputs its own text characters in text, or searching, online, etc.

I was using a screeen protector and after removing all of of the issues went away but then it needed charge and I used my car charger and they came back.

Took it off the charger, they went away, and as the battery has drained very low, the problems are back.

Could it just be the battery?

i would try a factory reset after you determine that your problems have nothing in common with the reports of the grounding issues the Inc has. all this is happening while you're holding on to it?

yes, i am holding it, so not a grounding issue.

Did a lot of customoziation, would hate to do a factory reset.

I have installed nothing on the phone so i know its not a rogue app.

verizon car charger came with phone.

the way it behaved with the charged made me think battery right away.

of course, the thing could just be junky, like a lot of the phones people are getting.

Its true, My original phone had some issues, but my replacement has like 10 more issues lol, so the replacement is getting sent back and keeping my original lol

Its a month wait to get a new phone, i would rather fix this one then to get a new one with more issues and the faux screen and lord knows what else.

really want to get a new battery.

What are you waiting for? Put in a call to Verizon and see if they're willing to work with you. Never know until you try! :)

factory reset was a fail. Phone has major issues. Will give it one more shot and see what comes, of course this time its gonna have the Sony screen.

You mentioned using a car charger several times. Is this your sole means of charging the phone? Use the home charger (the one that came with the phone, not an aftermarket charger) and give it a full charge with the phone turned off.

Also check the trackpad for any lint/dirt. Many people have had issues with the phone doing strange things when there is dirt or lint trapped in it. Compressed air seems to be the best bet for cleaning it.

no, the phone charge was just something i noticed, but its not the issue. The phone was bunk. I read about the track ball issue and did the air thing and didnt fix it. Fact of the matter is there is a serious issue with the phone and its been returned and a new one ordered. Who knows what will come in 30 days, hopefully a good replacement, but from what I have been reading the phone is being shipped with more and more problems.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm on my second phone, which is a refurb (It came look brand spanking new BTW). It performs flawlessly so far.

My first phone had an issue with the phone itself (would make a buzzing sounds when I would make a call, person on the other end would be unable to hear me and I'd have to do a battery pull to get things working again). Also had constant reboots.

So I feel your pain. But hang in there, I bet your new phone will live up to your expectations.

i was offered a refurb but I can't stomach the thought of getting a new phone and then having to take a refurb. Lord knows what was done with it, but that being said, its great you are happy.

when the phone worked perfectly for 2 hours yesterday, it was freaking awesome. Its just sad they are so junky off the assembly line.

Yeah, I was concered too. I was just outside my 30 day return policy window. But the refurb looks brand new, not a mark, scratch or anything else that would indicate it is a refurb. My new one actually had a small "nic" in the upper right hand corner (could only see it at certain angles if the light was right - super tiny - but it bothered me none-the-less). The refurb is perfect. Who knows, maybe it is new. Either way, like I said, it looks perfect.
