phone back from htc

just got my phone back from htc, its been in for a fault which they could,nt find, but told me they had flashed the phone and updated it, just checked and its still running 2.2, why is this if their is newer software available

Hmmmm...you should have checked that with htc......man they really have a bad service.

I thought 2.2 was the latest. I heard 2.2.1 got scrapped and there will be no upgrade until 2.3 comes out.

Oh okay then, my bad. My DHD, bought at the end of Feb, came with 2.2 and no 2.2.1 update has been available for me.

I didn't have my phone then, but I believe it was just the first batch of 2.2.1 ROMs that had problems.

I also know that HTC can be a bit poor when it comes to delivering updates to non-UK/USA handsets. That was the case with the Hero anyway. Quite a few people ended up debranding to the generic ROM so they could update.
