Help Phone calls not working?

AliBayat

Hi, I use a Galaxy S4 from the provider Wind Mobile in Canada. I've had it for about 4-5 months now but this past month I've been having a problem. I can call people and people can call me but when I pick up the phone I don't hear the other person at all and usually the person I'm calling hears a beeping noise that won't stop until I hang up. If anyone could help me solve what this problem is it would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The first thing to try is to go to Settings>More tab>Application Manager>All Tab. Scroll down and find the Phone app. Tap the app, clear cache and clear data and then reboot the phone. Try a call. If that didn't fix it, I would try a Factory Reset from the recovery menu. Save any data (pictures, music) that you may have on internal storage on the phone prior to doing the Factory Reset as you will lose all of it.

Easy to fix with no calls or voicemail:
Go to Settings > Mobile Networks > Preferred Network Type. Then if it's on 2g/3g/4G/4gLTE click on 2g/3g/4g then back out of settings and hit voicemail in your contacts to test a call. If it works try a regular call. If that works then go back to settings to switch back to 2g/3g/4G/4gLTE. Back out of settings again and retest. Should work fine ;)
