Root Phone Calls?

Before I root I was wondering; is there any way to make free phone calls via WiFi or anything after the eris is rooted?

google voice will support calling via 3g./wifi in the future, you can do the same with skype right now however. Neither of these require root.

Be careful with Skype - the official Verizon Skype app uses your voice minutes for calls to non-Skype, US phone numbers. It's only Skype to Skype and calls to international numbers that use 3G (not WiFi - the app will refuse to run if you have WiFi enabled.)
