Help Phone can't find Wifi

My phone, Moto X Play, has been unable to find any Wifi networks in my area. I'm currently at work where there are 10-20 networks open at any given time. Other people around me have no problem so it is not a router problem. Data worked, and I could receive texts. Wifi screen simply says "no networks available."

I tried clearing my cache, rebooting, typing in #*#*526#*#*... and now a factory reset.

I'm now at the point where my phone is stuck at the factory reset "scanning for networks." I can't skip this step because then all my backup info will be downloaded on my data.

I did have a screen replaced on my phone yesterday. I'm wondering if this could be a hardware issue? Maybe they hit something when replacing the screen?

Try getting right next to the router and see if it can pick up Wifi. Hopefully you can. This will get you through set up. I found another question identical to yours. Unfortunately there is no answer there, but it does appear to be directly associated with the screen replacement. I'll keep looking.

If you had a professional do the screen replacement, I would take it back. The antenna is disconnected during the process.

I just had that problem in a hospital where I am doing "bedside duty" for my wife...

my laptop refused to connect to the WiFi because the system was "redirecting" my IP request.

it took me a few minutes to sleuth out what is going on. my laptop's WiFi manager has options to prevent any redirects upon a WiFi connecting.... this redirect is required to go thru the typical "Sign On Screen".

I suspicion that I have just found out why this laptop does NOT like motel WiFi routers... this has been pissing me off for over a year, but today, is the first time that the WiFi manager popped up and let me see what the hell is going on.... Once I waded thru the options menus, I saw it "Plainer than Day"...
I turned off all of the security options in the WiFi manager, I will let PureVPN take care of that function.
