Phone can't locate music on SD card

I have recently purchased a Sony xperia T3 and found that once I placed my sd card into the phone, the music apps were unable to locate and therefore unable to play my music. I've tried moving the music to my internal storage but that has not solved the problem. I've searched to see if the nomedia file is located somewhere on the phone but it is not there. (All the photos stored on my sd card can still be viewed)

Does anyone have any knowledge on how to fix this problem?

It can be done using the File Commander app all Sony handsets have installed. Alternatively, connect to a PC and use Windows Explorer.

Just tried it and it kept coming up with there's a file already there with a name or that the name is invalid.

If possible pull out the sdcard put it into a reader and plug it into your computer unless your computer has a built in reader then just plug it in. See if there is a /Music folder if Not then create one. Place your music in this folder. Reinsert the card into the phone power on and allow the phone to fully boot up before messing with it. Then go to your music app and see if its working.
